A laboratory with taste
Herman Art Bench is both a serious image-model benchmark and a place to develop a durable visual identity: midnight navy, aged brass, art-deco geometry, clockwork structure, and visible evidence.
The project exists because aesthetic judgment and technical reproducibility are usually separated. Here they are forced into the same record. A beautiful result with broken anatomy is documented as beautiful and broken. A benchmark result without the source artifact is incomplete.
Open source
The code, records, schemas, prompts, review notes, and releasable artifacts are published under the MIT License unless an individual record states a different rights constraint.
What comes next
The bench will grow slowly: one controlled image at a time, then repeated trials, cross-model comparisons, typography tests, material studies, and a public failure museum. Storage will move to object storage only when repository weight justifies it; provenance rules remain unchanged.
